The Stein Family Friendship Garden of Love
The Stein Family Friendship Garden of Love is a beautiful, inclusive outdoor learning environment where individuals of all abilities can learn, grow, connect, and build friendships.
Under the professional guidance of Urban Harvest, the Garden hosts weekly therapeutic gardening sessions that encourage teamwork, responsibility, sensory engagement, and social interaction. Through our partnership with JFS Celebration Company West and Central, participants enjoy hands-on experiences planting, harvesting, composting, and caring for vegetables, flowers, and fruit trees—all while developing skills and meaningful friendships.
The Garden also serves as a gathering place for the broader community. Special programs, including our Tu B’Shevat Community Inclusion Day in partnership with West Houston B’Yachad, bring individuals with disabilities, families, volunteers, and community members together to celebrate, learn, and experience inclusion in action.
Developed in collaboration with Chabad of West Houston, the Garden features accessible raised planter beds, vegetable and flower gardens, five varieties of fruit trees, a rose and wildflower garden, koi pond, meditation pergolas, and shaded seating areas.
At the Stein Family Friendship Garden of Love, we don’t just grow plants—we grow friendships, confidence, community, and belonging.
