Friendship Beyond Our Walls
Friendship Circle Houston is proud to bring meaningful programming and friendship to residents of the Richmond, Brenham, and Lufkin State Supported Living Centers.
This special program began in 1999 through the vision and dedication of Mrs. Ileene Robinson, z”l, whose commitment to bringing friendship, joy, and Jewish connection to individuals living at the centers continues to inspire our work today.
Through regular visits and special programs, Friendship Circle volunteers create opportunities for connection, companionship, and shared experiences with residents. Programs include Jewish holiday celebrations, music, interactive activities, crafts, entertainment, and social gatherings, all offered in a warm and engaging environment.
At the heart of these visits is something simple but powerful: friendship. By showing up, spending time together, celebrating special moments, and building lasting relationships, our volunteers help create a genuine sense of connection and community.
Today, Friendship Circle Houston is honored to continue Mrs. Robinson’s legacy, ensuring that friendship, belonging, and meaningful Jewish experiences reach beyond our walls and into the lives of residents at Richmond and Brenham.
